Consultation and Collaboration

Because environments shape regulation.
And regulation shapes what becomes possible for people.

Most approaches to behavior, performance, learning, leadership, and wellbeing start in the wrong place.

They focus on outcomes without paying enough attention to the conditions shaping people’s ability to function in the first place.

The Regulation Shift begins with the environment.

Because environments shape regulation.
Regulation shapes capacity.
And capacity shapes what becomes possible for learning, relationships, decision making, leadership, and sustainable functioning over time.

Grounded in developmental science, nervous system functioning, relational dynamics, implementation science, and real world systems work, this approach bridges psychology, education, leadership, organizational development, and systems change.

Some children lose access to regulation under environments requiring constant adaptation.
Some adults appear highly functional while quietly operating through chronic overload and compensation.
Some leaders spend so much time managing pressure and fragmentation that reflection, flexibility, and sustainable capacity begin to erode.

This work focuses on understanding and changing the conditions affecting human functioning.

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

ABOUT DR. TRACY LARSON

Dr. Tracy Larson is a developmental school psychologist, consultant, and systems thinker specializing in regulation, relational dynamics, leadership, and organizational functioning under pressure. Her work bridges developmental science, implementation practice, and real world systems challenges across education, early childhood, and interdisciplinary settings.

She currently serves as Director of Early Childhood Partnerships at the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Child Development, where she supports applied partnerships, leadership development, consultation infrastructure, and systems level implementation work across schools and organizations.

In addition to her systems and university based work, Dr. Larson independently provides consultation and learning experiences for parents, educators, leaders, organizations, and multidisciplinary teams seeking support related to regulation, behavior, learning, relational dynamics, stress, and environmental conditions that affect functioning over time.

Her experience includes consultation related to anxiety, emotional regulation, school related stress, neurodivergence, behavioral challenges, trauma, developmental differences, executive functioning, learning needs, family stress, and complex educational support planning.

Her approach is grounded in the understanding that behavior, learning, emotional regulation, relationships, and performance are deeply shaped by environment, stress, nervous system functioning, and relational experience. Rather than focusing only on changing individual behavior, her work helps people better understand the conditions influencing functioning in the first place.

Consultation sessions and cohort experiences listed on this website are provided directly by Dr. Larson in her independent professional capacity and are separate from her role at the University of Pittsburgh. These services are educational, consultative, and developmentally informed in nature and do not constitute therapy, psychological treatment, or crisis services.

Through consultation, leadership development, cohort based learning experiences, and systems partnerships, Dr. Larson helps individuals and organizations create environments that support regulation, expand capacity, and make sustainable outcomes more possible over time. 🌿
